From all of us at Lyssy Beefmasters, thank you. To everyone who came to Luling, everyone who bid online, and everyone who followed along this fall, it means more than we can say to have you be part of the Heart of the Herd Sale.

Thank you to our consignors, Cannon Cattle and B&T Genetics, for bringing such good cattle, and to our sale team, including Trey Scherer with Strategy Cattle, Mike Green with 3G Cattle Sales, Garrett Thomas with Hi Point Sales and Marketing, Colson Cannon, Vance Runnels on the block, and Noe Lopez with IMTEX Livestock. For our buyers, here's how pickup and hauling will work. Once you've settled with the sale staff, the paperwork on your purchases will be transferred to you at our expense. Buyers are responsible for arranging transportation for their cattle, and each animal becomes the buyer's responsibility as soon as the auctioneer declares it sold.

Please keep in mind that every state has its own requirements for shipping cattle, so check the rules for your state before you haul.

Hello from Luling, and welcome to sale day. The Heart of the Herd Production Sale starts promptly at 10:30 AM today at the Luling Foundation, 523 S. Mulberry in Luling, Texas.

Cattle are available for viewing this morning from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, so come early, walk the pens, and visit with the family and the sale team. If you can't be with us, the sale is live on DV Auction with real time and proxy bidding available.

There are 58 lots selling today, including Lot 1, our Pick of the Sale, along with the pairs, bred heifers, open heifers, and semen lots. Everything sells to the highest bidder without reserve. Lot 26, Lyssys 114/743 ET, is a polled, homo red bred heifer that brings the whole Lyssy story together in one pedigree. She's sired by Lyssy's Custom Made 646, an Enforcer son, and out of G4 714, a Maverick daughter, and she was AI bred March 2nd to Lyssy's Challenger with an NG Witt cleanup bull through late June.

The numbers are as good as the pedigree, with weaning weight and maternal value both in the top ten percent of the breed, and yearling weight, terminal index, and marbling all in the top fifteen percent.

Lot 15, Lyssys 93/692, is a polled black cow by Lyssy's Custom Made 646 out of ANS Shes All That 137, with a black, polled heifer calf at side by 3B King Tide 20-30.

She ranks in the top three percent of the breed for marbling and in the top fifteen percent for weaning weight, terminal index, and maternal value. Her calf carries that forward with top fifteen percent numbers for weaning weight, yearling weight, and terminal index, so this is a pair that's bringing performance on both ends of the lead rope.

Her numbers back up the pedigree. She ranks in the top three percent of the breed for maternal value, the top four percent for weaning weight, and the top five percent for marbling, which is a lot of strength in one cow. Her calf is showing the same promise, sitting in the top ten percent for weaning weight, yearling weight, and terminal index.

The catalog runs from Lot 1 through Lot 60, beginning with Lot 1, our Pick of the Sale, followed by cow-calf pairs in Lots 2 through 21, bred heifers in Lots 22 through 43, open heifers in Lots 44 through 56, and semen lots in Lots 57 through 60.
