NFL players overwhelmingly say natural grass is the better surface. Itā€™s easier on their bodies, and it doesnā€™t cook in the sun. At Nissan Stadium in Nashville, artificial turf hit 157Ā°F, hot enough to melt cleats. šŸ”„

Real grass cools the air around it, cushions every cut and tackle, and keeps plastic out of the places we play. If the best athletes in the world are asking for it, why are our kidsā€™ fields, parks, and stadiums still going plastic?

A huge thank you to the APLD California Chapter for featuring this stunning Half Moon Bay project in the latest issue of California Landscape Design, and to Ken Coverdell of Blue Sky Designs for showcasing just how transformative Native Mow Freeā„¢ can be.

From a traditional lawn to a soft, natural meadow, this project is a perfect example of how California native grasses can bring movement, texture, and a whole new feeling to an outdoor space.

With extreme temperatures in the forecast, proper care during the first few days after installation is more important than ever. A little extra attention now will help your lawn establish strong roots and stay healthy through the heat.

āœ… Lay your sod immediately upon delivery.
šŸš« Do not water sod while itā€™s still on the pallet.
šŸ’§ Water deeply right after installation to cool the grass and encourage root growth.
šŸ’¦ During extreme heat, newly installed sod will need more frequent watering than usual.
šŸ‘€ Watch for signs of heat stress, like shrinking rolls or browning along the edges.
