Another successful 4H year for the kids. Maddie had 2nd in her class and Payton and Blake each had 3rd. The kids grew tremendously this year in their work ethic and independence with their projects. Thank you to Supreme Manufacturing, Palmer Pools (didn’t get the picture in time), and Fox Fire Cabins for purchasing their animals!

What a difference a few days can make. These steers are pictured about 45 days apart. They came to us averaging 450 lbs and are now pushing 600. Our process has been to run calves on pasture while feeding about 1% of their body weight in grain daily during the spring and early summer months. As pasture declines, grain will be increased to about 2% for approximately 180 days or until they reach an ideal finish and market size.
