I am from India and have lived in the US for 20+ years now. I have 30+ years of cooking experience, cooking for my family and friends. Simple --I love food, I love Cooking. How do I know so many regional cuisines of India
I was born in Bihar, Moved to Rajasthan but my mom kept cooking Bihari Dishes, My parents are from UP and she cooked that too, Living in Rajasthan we learned to love Rajasthani d
ishes too. I moved to Maharashtra for my studies learned some treasured some dishes there. Some very close friends at my collage were from Gujarat and I added some favorites from that state. Moved to Delhi/Haryana after studies to work. Delhi is the capitol of India it is also the food capitol of India....Moved to the US was cooking all the so called North Indian dishes.... then I ran into this guy and fell in love and married him he happened to be from the State of Tamil Nadu well then I started learning some south Indian dishes.. My MIL born in Karnataka come to visit and she was cooking some delicious things from Karnataka so added some of those to my recipes....
My kid was born --- Learned kids eat different from adults and started making the same food "Kid friendly". So now you know a little bit about my learning to cook journey. My fav vegetable is Potato. The variety you can make with that one vegetable is endless. In US I am still looking for a restaurant that makes the perfect Dal Makhani and Pani Puri Water. I have not found it yet, so I learned to make it myself and I make it lip smacking good.
