Could school vending be doing more?

I've been thinking about this lately...

Walk into most schools and you'll find vending machines that haven't changed much in years. Limited choices. Mostly snacks and soda.

But what if they could become something students, faculty, staff, and visitors actually appreciated?

Today's smart markets can offer fresh grab-and-go meals, healthier snacks, hydration, coffee, protein options, and everyday essentials—all in a modern, cashless experience.

The goal isn't to replace a school's food service program. It's to complement it by providing convenient options before school, after school, during athletic events, evenings, weekends, and other times when the cafeteria isn't open.

If you're a teacher, administrator, coach, food service professional, or know someone who works in education, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

We’re honored and excited to announce that Modern Market Vending is now providing a new onsite food & beverage amenity at the Madonna Queen of the Universe Shrine in East Boston.

Visitors, guests, parishioners, and families can now enjoy convenient access to snacks and beverages while spending time at one of Boston’s most special and spiritual destinations. Even better — a portion of proceeds will help support the church and shrine, along with the continued revitalization efforts taking place at the Madonna Shrine.

The Shrine is undergoing a beautiful transformation, with major renovations and exciting updates already completed… and there is still more to come and be announced. We’re incredibly grateful to play even a small role in helping support its future.

This opportunity came through one of my oldest friends, Carlo Basile, who first reached out and asked if we would be interested in providing the service. My answer was immediate — absolutely.

Thank you to everyone involved for trusting Modern Market Vending to be part of something so meaningful to the East Boston community. Carlo and his family are doing incredible work to revive one of the most historic places in the country.
