Tomorrow! Good informational on mealybugs. They are everywhere at this point

Mealy Bug Update — this new pest is causing major damage and kills all types of forage and lawn grasses.

If you have any type of permanent grass, especially Tifton or Bermuda, this is something you need to attend.

An update will be given Friday, May 29, from 1:00–3:00 PM at the Gillespie County Ag Extension Office, 38 Business Court, Fredericksburg. CEUs will be available. No RSVP needed.

Pasture mealybug is in multiple locations in both Blanco & Gillespie counties.

This bug is rather new to the US & Texas and causes quite the damage to the range and pasture world of agriculture.

Now all ranchers and hay producers should be scouting for the insect.

The 2026 Beef & Range Field Day will be Thursday, May 7th, 2026 at 3:30 pm. 1 IPM and 1 Laws & Regs CEU will be available. Updates on Pasture Mealy Bugs and Screwworms. Allied Ag Services was honored to be presented with this year’s Stonewall Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award.

Attributed to its leadership, Allied Ag has been community-focused since the business was formed. Community & the youth in agriculture are at our forefront of support.
Within Stonewall, Allied Ag has always happily donated to Trinity Lutheran & St. Francis Catholic Churches, the Fredericksburg FFA, Gillespie County 4-H, Friends of Gillespie County Country Schools, Gillespie County & Blanco County Fairs, Johnson City Antique Tractor Club and many more for their fundraisers.

AA has donated & supported the Stonewall Volunteer Fire department and its fundraiser fish fry, going back to the days of catching the fish to fry.
We are a Supporter of the Stonewall Elementary school.
We have lent a hand or a forklift for neighbors & the various events in the community.

Allied Ag has not missed both the Gillespie & Blanco county youth livestock sales for the last 50 & 45 years, respectively, always as a top buyer.

And then there’s the Peach Jamboree.
Allied Ag has been a top buyer at the Stonewall Peach Jamboree Auction, along with sharing the parking lot for bbq pits or parade floats when there was a chance of rain and, always, nightly for rodeo spectators parking.

All spoken in past tense, we are and will continue to support & love our community, as long as we are in business.
When it gets down to it, we are thankful for this community and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
