Big news on the farm this week- our resident piggies are headed to our new local locker on Wednesday to fulfill their piggy destiny! We are very excited to have Story City Locker here to process our pastured piggies for us.
Look for pork to be added to our repertoire next year, along with the return of our pastured chickens and turkeys! Thank you for being understanding this year as we have focused on expanding our knowledge to provide our animals and you with the best possible experience. We look forward to continuing to be your friendly, local, clean and humane source for pastured meats in the new year!
We will continue to process our own poultry here on the farm next year. As always, you are welcome to see your chickens and turkeys any time to see how they live, and are also welcome to stop by on processing days too! More to come on details for pork.
Next year, we will add more laying hens to the flock and be able to offer our delicious and nutritious eggs from our pastured hens to our regular offerings once again. The eggs are like none you have experienced before- golden yellow yolks from the consumption of grasses and other plants. Their diet also includes feed with flaxseed to increase the omega 3s in their eggs. Our hens are happy and healthy.
