Local honey availability for a limited time! Our good friends and winery neighbors (the Rowlands) have started a bee operation and a little honey started rolling in the early summer. You might know the guy that helps them with the bees- his name is Thomas- and he has added yet another skill to his illustrious resumeā€™.

Not only are the bees enjoying the flowers around our beautiful countryside, they get to sample some grapes and we donā€™t mind sharing a little of the juice with them. Especially the grapes that arenā€™t quality enough for us to pick for wine.. Let them hang and let it bee.

The REALLY exciting buzz from this development is the prospect for a new wine. Can you guess what it might be? ā€¦

Mead! Once all their hives are flowing we do hope to get honey from hives less than a mile from the winery and make some honey wine (better known as mead). Can you imagine the mead flavor with honey made from bees that are also dining on grapes?

We will dream. But for now, you can try some delicious local honey šŸÆ

Here is the heart of a family owned estate winery. Thereā€™s nothing like seeing the 3rd generation at harvest season. These pics are from various years and we love seeing the kids grow with the vines, vintage after vintage.

Yes, we still harvest everything by hand (some hands smaller than others). And harvest is close. The first sign is when these kids start eating the grapes šŸ‡

You can pick up wine all the time through our website and curbside pickup. We are also usually available by appointment with enough advance notice.

In other news, the grapes are changing colors and itā€™s a great time to visit the winery. Just make sure you do so on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

If you see an influx of birds at your feeders itā€™s because we shut them down! Itā€™s that time of the year, the grapes are ripening and EVERYTHING wants to eat them.

Fortunately we have some mechanical help, but itā€™s still pretty labor intensive to get these nets rolled over miles of grapevines. Oh, and itā€™s rather warm outside. But the war for the grapes doesnā€™t wait for nice weather.

Thereā€™s also a few wines we donā€™t submit due to limited release and quantity requirements for the competition. We are thrilled about the results though and will keep these proudly on display this year!
