Red Day is coming up!!

Each year on the second Thursday in May, Keller Williams celebrates making a difference in the lives of others. We call it RED DAY. We dedicate the day to raising money and collecting food/household items for our local food pantries and Homestart.

👨‍👩‍👧 Today, more than ever, there is an overwhelming need in our communities. Each year during RED Day, KW Boston Northwest and Cambridge work to replenish and help stock the food pantries and Homestart in our service areas.

An estimated 1 in 8 Americans are food insecure, equating to over 38 million Americans, including almost 12 million children. It is our mission to support local organizations working to wipe out hunger.

💓Participate in our 2022 Red Day!
📆 Thursday, May 12th
🎉Hosted by Keller Williams Boston Northwest and Cambridge
📍KW Agents will collect food items at local grocery stores from 10am to 2pm

Can't come to the store on May 12th, I will pick up items at your home! Please dm me and I will pick up at your home, Wednesday, May 11th.

Sevi selects The Stow Food Pantry for senior project!!
Sevi Mast is a senior at Nashoba High School who has worked for over two years packing client orders for distribution at our weekend food pantries. Last year, she did a fundraiser in January and collected enough donations to gift each family with a Dunkin Donuts gift card. She chose January for the donation so that the food pantry clients would have something special to lift spirits after the December holidays were over. This year, she again wanted to do something special to lift client spirits so she partnered with Little Feet Treats, a Stow licensed home bakery, to offer cupcakes to our clients for Valentine's Day. Paige Dalto baked beautifully decorated cupcakes and the clients were thrilled. Sevi raised enough money to not only provide the special cupcakes, but also had enough to make a monetary donation to the pantry.

Thank you to Sevi and to Paige, Jodie and Jen! All are very committed, helpful volunteers at the Stow Food Pantry.

A big THANK YOU to our volunteer callers at The Stow Food Pantry. For the past two years, these awesome volunteers have called our Food Pantry clients every month to take their food orders. This takes perseverance since many times it requires multiple calls in order to connect with a client and successfully take an order. These volunteers also offer an empathetic ear, kindness, and connection during the difficult and isolating time of this pandemic.

Thank you Rebecca!! Rebecca organized a drive to collect very important hygiene items for The Stow Food Pantry. Hygiene items are so important because it gives people a sense dignity and it is such a help as hygiene items are very expensive to purchase.
Rebecca collected on her own and received a generous amount of donations. She delivered two huge donations, one in in early December and another donation again at the end of December. Here is Rebecca with most recent donations. Our clients will be thrilled. Thank you Rebecca!!

A big Thank You to Stow resident Alex Davis and his kids Brodie and Jocelyn. They dropped off a large donation of canned goods and boxed items to The Stow Food Pantry today.

The family won some money on a scratch lottery ticket recently and decided to use it to help out the clients at The Stow Food Pantry! Not only did the kids help shop for the food, they also helped deliver the food. What an awesome way to #payitforward!

Thank you goes out to Rebecca!! Rebecca is doing a hygiene drive for the The Stow Food Pantry. This is the first of two donations she dropped off last Friday. Rebecca collected an AMAZING amount of items. All of the hygiene donations are items that we typically have to purchase outright. This is such wonderful gift to the pantry! Thank you Rebecca and all that donated!!

Thanks to Stow Cub Scouts Pack 39 we were able to give our Stow Food Pantry clients something extra special this month!! These Cub Scouts created a holiday goodie bag for the Stow Food Pantry clients...for the second year in a row!! In the goodie bag they’ve included cocoa, chocolate, marshmallows and have also donated bags of cookies. WHAT A troop of guys! The Cub Scouts did chores to earn the money to buy the items in the goodie bags. SUCH a wonderful holiday treat for our food pantry clients!! Thank you to Stow Cub Scouts Pack 39 for your hard work and thinking of The Stow Food Pantry!!

Week of Action supply drives also include blankets and sheets for Household Goods, tech and school supplies for Acton Housing Authority, and personal care items for Stow Food Pantry. Has your grocery store donated $67,000 to local charities this year? The Littleton Food Cooperative did. Community-owned grocery stores (co-ops) donate 3x as much to local nonprofits as conventional supermarkets. The shoppers own the store, so we have a say in which local nonprofits we support. At the Littleton Food Co-op, Owners vote for each month's "Round-Up At the Register" charities, and shoppers can round up each purchase to the nearest dollar to make an impact. So, are you ready? In this dark winter, GOOD IS GROWING at Gaining Ground. For 27 years, this nonprofit farm has sprouted thousands of seedlings in its winter hoop houses. Seedlings that become thousands of pounds of organic vegetables in the fields, every bit DONATED to feed our hungry neighbors. And every year, 2,500 volunteers make it happen. Stay hopeful, folks. Spring is coming. Good people are sowing the seeds right now, as they always have, and Good is Growing. ‘Maybe this year we all don’t need 1,000 gifts,’ the Rev. George L. Ortiz Jr. said. ‘Let’s make sure that people to the left and the right of us can eat and keep the lights on.’ You don't have to visit Rhode Island to see and hear the people that Rev. Ortiz is talking about. They're our friends and neighbors right here, in and around Maynard, Massachusetts. This year, if you're fortunate enough to be working through a list of gifts to buy, please consider a donation to the Maynard Food Pantry, Open Table, The Stow Food Pantry, Maynard MA Neighbor Brigade, Maynard Community Chest or any of the orgs serving our friends, neighbors, and children's basic needs. Substitute one gift for one donation. Cooperatively, together, it will make a difference. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/12/08/metro/covid-19-ravages-rhode-island-small-nonprofit-feeds-37000-people-week/
