Today is Hinamatsuri (also called Girl’s Day or Doll’s Day) and it’s a special day in Japan! This day is to celebrate young women and pray for their continued health and happiness. and Buku are teaming up to bring something new to Stowe!! We’ve worked hard to create this Japanese inspired, Vermont ingredient driven kaiseki menu. Each course has a few dishes, served family style, to mimic the style in which Japanese dine. ⠀

Both these sushi items are fish-free: pictured on the left is marinated red bell pepper nigiri; brushed with chili oil, topped with fried shallot and shaved pine nut. ⠀

We will not be doing bento this Tuesday (9/22) to give us time to prep for the busy weekend. With that said—Buku will be transitioning into primarily pop-ups and prepared foods and less bento boxes in the near future. ⠀
