Why do we raise guineas?

When we bought this property, it was overrun with ticks. We added guineas to help with tick control, and they've made a huge difference. What used to be a daily battle is now an occasional nuisance—we might only find 1-2 ticks in a week.

As a bonus, they're also some of the funniest animals on the farm. Loud? Absolutely. Entertaining? Also absolutely.

We wouldn't want a farm without them.

One of the biggest differences on our farm is that the animals don’t stay in one spot all the time.

Our pigs, chickens, ducks, and meat birds are all moved regularly onto fresh pasture. Rotational grazing helps:
🌱 Improve soil health
🐛 Reduce pests naturally
💩 Spread manure more evenly
🐓 Give animals fresh forage and bugs

It’s more work for us, but healthier for the land and animals.
