Saltonstall Farm We’re a family farm, hosting events in our historic barn and growing the tastiest fruit!

I went to visit my good friends Becky and Phil at Brandmoore farm yesterday 🐄🤠🥰

They have 80 cows and make milk, cheeses and yogurts! Many of their products are available in our farm store right now including:
🐄 Maple, Plain and Greek yogurts
🐄 Two kinds of hard cheese plus cheese curds
🐄 Herbed labneh, a delicious soft spreadable cheese
🌶️🧅 Sweet peppers and onions

Even organic products in grocery stores often come from less than ideal conditions for the animals. The only way to ensure high quality conditions and products is to buy local!

Our farm store is loaded with their organic dairy products, come on by this weekend to grab yours! Open 8-8 🙌🏻

Raspberries are slowing down significantly so we will likely be sold out for the weekend but the store is open and you can get honey, jam, and frozen strawberries as well. You can also pick your own berries and pick up some yogurt to go with it! I recommend yogurt, raspberries and a drizzle of our honey 🤤

Pre-picked raspberries are slowing down! The high tunnel is only producing a few boxes now. We will stay open but the best times to get them are M/W/F mid mornings. Otherwise, they are likely sold out! We’re already sold out from this mornings stock.

If I know we are sold out, I’ll take down the open flag.

PYO patch is still going so come on out to grab your berries there, and I’m picking some for the stand as well but they disappear almost as soon as I stock the fridge!

Thanks for supporting us as we start this organic family fruit farm. The farmstand is still open for now and you can get jam, honey, frozen strawberries and other products.

We have some adorable custom pottery made by Lisa Puffer Pottery 🤩 We worked on a design together last winter and they came out so well! 🍓🫐🍓

Instead of buying cheap custom mugs made in China that we can sell for a larger profit, we opted for supporting a local potter and I couldn’t be happier with the results 🥰

We are SWIMMING in pre-picked, delicious organic no spray raspberries!

So we are doing a short term sale until our stock from Monday is gone- buy a box picked yesterday and get a box from Monday at half price!

First come first serve while boxes last. I will comment on this post when we’re sold out so check before coming!

This is my happy place. Three days a week when I’m picking in the high tunnel, I’m surrounded by cute bumblebees flying around, gorging themselves on raspberry flowers then drunkenly chilling in the sun (on my hand).

My favorite days are when they land on my hands and give my fingers a hug, which I captured once at the end of the video!

If you didn’t see a previous video about these guys, I talked about releasing them in the netted high tunnel so they can pollinate, but we keep other bugs out. They only live about 10 weeks, the whole time in the high tunnel living their best lives.

Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD) is a tiny fruit fly that lays its eggs in developing fruit and then the larva turn the berries to mush 🫠

Any no spray outdoor operation will have SWD in their berries in the fall (each year they migrate up from the south, therefore our June strawberries are safe), unless they are netted with a fine mesh net like ours are!

Thankfully, SWD larva is not harmful to humans but maggots are my personal no-go 🙅🏼‍♀️

We are swimming in SWD free and chemical free berries so come on down to our farmstand to support your local small family farm! 🙏🏻

Boxes are $12 each and they just may be the best raspberries you’ve ever eaten 😋

PYO update: the field isn’t looking great. The heat and now SWD pressure are high… they haven’t even started ripening much yet. But they go until the end of Oct so things may turn around, closed still for now but I’ll keep you posted!
