Most days moving cows is easy. Today was not one of those days. 5 calves and 2 steers decided not to follow the leaders into the next pasture, and we drove around a wet pasture full of poo trying to chase them out.

It is really something special to see all the species of butterflies in our pasture. The beautiful monarch is considered at risk of extinction due to the massive decline. Farms like ours value our insect population and actively provide habitat and food.

Two years ago, our farm was an active stopping station with hundreds of monarchs resting here on their way to winter grounds in Mexico.

We hope to see that many again this year.

We’re temporarily out of ground beef again! We should be restocking in about 2 weeks. We just can’t keep it in stock.

We do have ground beef burger patties! $20 in the Farm Store for a 2 # pack.

For those of you wanting a larger quantity of beef, we will be restocking the 1/8th beef in two weeks.

Male cattle in feedlot lactating? If this wasn’t from a reputable source, I would have laughed and moved on. This isn’t a joke, and like the author of this article, I would agree that implanted hormones are likely to blame.
