Did you know: long before bags of flour lined grocery-store shelves, people gathered acorns, soaked them to remove their bitterness, dried them, and then ground them into a rough flour for breads and other foods.

I myself have actually tried this with acorns, and let's just say I only tried it once 😉

Today, our pigs are happy to take care of the acorn harvest themselves!

🎉 **We've Got a Brand-New Website!**

It's hard to believe, but when Freedom Valley Farm first started back in 2018, our entire "website" was just a simple Google Form.

It wasn't fancy—but thanks to your support, it was enough to help our little family farm get off the ground.

Fast forward to today, and we're excited to share our completely redesigned website!

We've spent months rebuilding it to make shopping easier, faster, and more enjoyable. You'll find improved product pages, better bulk-buy resources, new farm content, and a cleaner experience whether you're on your phone or computer.

Most importantly, this new website is a reflection of how far **we've** come together.

Thank you for supporting our family farm over the years. Every order, every kind word, and every recommendation has helped make this possible.

We'd love for you to check it out and let us know what you think!

🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July from all of us at Freedom Valley Farm! 🇺🇸

Today we're celebrating **250 years of American independence**, and feeling especially thankful for the freedoms we enjoy—including the freedom to farm the way we believe is best.

This week, after a seven-week wait, our brand-new pig feeder finally arrived. I have to admit...writing a check for over **$3,700** for a pig feeder made me do a double take! 😅

Our old metal feeders had rusted over the years, and the pigs quite literally tore them apart. This new one is built mostly from heavy-duty fiberglass, so while it wasn't cheap, it should last for many years and stand up to even our most determined pigs.

We had fun putting it together, and the pigs wasted no time giving it their stamp of approval. 🐷

(And yes...there's also a grass-fed brisket on the smoker today. 🇺🇸🥩)

We hope you enjoy a relaxing Fourth of July, and thank you for supporting our family's farm.

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Last month, we had to say goodbye to one of the best farm dogs we could have ever asked for. Whether he was greeting customers, riding along in the UTV for chores, playing with kids, or chasing groundhogs away from the livestock, he loved every minute of life on the farm.

We're heartbroken to lose him, but incredibly grateful for all the years, memories, and joy he brought to our family and our farm.

Got asked again this week—

“Are you organic?”

No. Way too much paperwork and cost to get bogged down with.

But I was out moving pigs the other day and snapped these pics.

That’s what our pastures actually look like.

Not sprayed. Not stripped down. Just growing.

And those dandelions everyone seems to try and get rid of? 🌼

They’re pulling minerals up from deep in the soil that our animals eat every day.

That’s the difference in our meats. 🌱

Not a label—just doing things the right way ✅ https://bqb.soundestlink.com/ce/v/0/69efb473757957a8268f8a67

Spring always feels like a fresh start. 🌿

Everything’s waking up… and life gets full, fast.

We’ve had a close reminder lately—
sitting in a hospital room with someone we love

not to overlook the one thing so much of your “everyday” depends on:
your health💛

Because you can’t do what you’re called to do
if you’re running on empty…
or on things that don’t truly sustain you.

So as the season picks up, ask yourself…

Am I choosing things that build and nourish me and my family?

Your life and your health are a gift 💜 …
Steward them well🌿
