The sale yesterday was fantastic!!!! We had a full house and these 4H kids did so great!!!

My most favorite part was that out of all the animals sold we have three that were donated to Second Harvest to help feed the families of Monroe county!!!!

I’m so proud to be not just a 4H mom but a 4H leader!!!!

Today is the 4th annual 4H Livestock sale at The West End Fair!!!

Round Robin is one of my most favorite events we have started having at our fair!!!

Wednesday night these 7 kids had all already won a title of champion or reserve showman in their respective species!!! They then had to compete against each other in Hog, rabbit, chicken, lamb, goat, dairy and beef to see who would rise to the top to win the buckle!!!

This is our third year doing this event and watching these kids from different clubs come together and help each other with species they might not show, cheer each other on all while showing their butts off!!!

I’m proud to say I was a parent of 2 of these contestants!!!

For Gideon, well anyone that has watched him over the last couple years, he would be very nervous showing even his own animals…. Watching him show 7 animals he did not own and some species he’s never shown and he killed it!!!!

For Abbey, well somehow she came out on top again for our year #3!!!!!! We are so proud!!!

Our score keeper said the scores were very very close.

I am so proud of all these kids and their drive!!! This is what makes me keep going as a 4H leader!!!

great day yesterday in the 4-H and Open Beef shows!

JVF Miss America and JVF Scarlett both won their class in 4-H and open.

JVF Miracle Cure won his bull class and then was champion Hereford bull!

LTSD Betya Wishya Could of won hereford cowcalf!

showmanship also went very well, grace was third in her heat and abbey was second!

we take a lot of pride in having an all AHA registered herd and we are very proud of our herefords and how much our quality improved over the last 2 years!

WEST END FAIR DAY 2 RESULTS

Rabbits
abbeys rabbits did amazing as usual! she won reserve champion 4-H rabbit, supreme open rabbit, and overall rabbit showman!

poultry!!
for the first time in 7 years, poultry was back and being exhibited at the fair!! Abbey came away with best in show eggs in 4-h! as well as champion market birds which will be sold in the sale of champions on saturday. abbey also won supreme and reserve overall poultry with maple and fresca! Fresca was also an angel and helped abbey win overall poultry showman!! it was a very exciting day with these birds and can’t wait to bring back maple next year for more treats 😂

Dairy show!!
Gideons holstein heifer pinky was AMAZING today! gideon was champion 4-H holstein heifer and reserve champion 4-H dairy female and reserve champion dairy showman! this kid showed his butt off today! we are very excited to watch pinky grow!

Market Beef!
Milkshake and abbey had their last round in the ring today before the sale on Saturday and it was a good one! Milkshake was 1st in his class in 4-H and second in open!

SHEEP SHOW RESULTS!!!!

market lambs!!

cream corn- 3rd

Glorilla- first in his weight division

Anderdingus- 3rd in his class

Landon- 2nd in his class

wind turbine- 1st in his weight division in both 4-H and Open and went on to be Supreme market lamb in both open and 4-H! he may have been the second lightest lamb here but man he had the quality! this lamb weighed in at 93 lbs! he has the structure, flash, and overall market quality that really draws attention in the show ring!! the judge LOVED this lamb and so do we! thank you Welker Farms for raising such quality stock! we are so thrilled with this lambs and their results!!

M&M- overall katahdin ewe and reserve champion 4-H female

open show:
billy flynn- first in his class, champion kathadin ram, and SUPREME RAM at only 4 months old!! we are SO excited for this ram and his future in the ring!

great last day of sussex!! the judge was great for both the show yesterday and then again today for showmanship!!

gideon had one of the hardest classes of showmanship that went in the ring today but still did great!

Abbey and Grace both got pulled from their classes and grace was in champion showman drive!!

it was a great weekend for JVF! next stop, west end fair!
