Brey Cycle Farm LLC We are dairy farmers who are passionate about caring for our land and our animals to make high-quality milk. Visitors are welcome.

Our why: to learn and adapt so all may have a quality life. Cycle Farm was established in 1904 and is owned by brothers Tony and Jacob Brey and their families. They purchased the farm from their parents, Bill and Clarice, in 2016. We milk 600 cows raise all of our calves and heifers as well as most of the crops for our herd. We also raise Angus/Holstein crossbred beef animals that we market through Brey Family Beef. In addition, we custom raise heifers for several other farms. We are members of Peninsula Pride Farms, a farmer-led watershed conservation group, and participate in the Door-Kewaunee Demonstration Farms Network.

We have a big birthday milestone this fall on our farm - three of our leading ladies turn 10 years old!

1137, 81515 and 9768 are celebrating their special days as cows do - eating a well-balanced meal delivered fresh, drinking lots of water, resting in their comfy beds next to their besties, and heading to the parlor three times a day to be milked.

Corn silage is harvested 💪🏼

With one job done it’s right into the next. We are using a no-till drill to plant triticale, a cross between wheat and rye, on our corn silage acres to cover the soil over winter and protect it from erosion. It also builds soil health while protecting water quality. We will harvest it in the spring as forage, making it a multi-purpose crop for us.

Our goal is to plant as many acres as possible in a cover crop before winter!

THANK YOU to our team and extra hands who helped with harvesting, covering the bunkers and all the animal care while others were in the fields. It’s truly a team effort.

Tomorrow we say “arrivederci” to Manuele and Mateo Rota. They spent the last month with us experiencing our Wisconsin dairy farm (and some fun around Door Co., Green Bay and even the Wisconsin State Fair)!

They are an integral part of their family’s 400-cow dairy farm in Italy (you can find it on Instagram ). The milk from their farm goes into Grana Padano cheese! They shared their passion for dairy cattle and crops with our family and our team of employees.

It was a true pleasure to have them here and we hope they come back again soon! We will miss you!!!

More fun farm tours last week! This group brought some great questions that put us to the test.

This week we have third crop hay on the to-do list, along with all the regular day-to-day jobs to care for our animals. Hoping for less haze from the wildfires so the hay can dry and the cows (and people) can breathe a little easier.

We talked cows, calves and crops, and farm cats were also a hit. It was a hot day but the freestall barn breeze felt so good.
