Beck Family Farms Providing quality home raised beef since 1903 In those days, ample back fat was preferred. A good 1400lb three year old steer had four inches of back fat.

Our Story:
Beck Farms started out in 1903 as Maple Leaf Farms raising Herford Shorthorn cross cattle and feeding steers for the Hotel and Steamship trade. By 1940, trends had moved to a leaner cattle so we added Angus bulls to the breeding program. From then on, we have had a closed herd at Beck Farms, which means that every mother cow was born on our farm. Bulls used as herd sires are the only animals purchased for the herd. This maintains the high quality and mild temperament we demand of our cattle. Our Quality:
At Beck Farms, we have very strict standards to ensure the best quality beef. This includes our policies regarding animal treatment. After all, the highest quality meat is our ultimate goal. Our feeding program is designed for our cattle to gain slowly and to put the kind of muscle on to result in the best meat. Our cattle are moved into our feedlot when they are 9 months old. Generally, they will be ready for processing after 180 days. How to Order:
If you are interested in top quality beef, you have the option of ordering a quarter, half, or a whole beef. Think about how much meat your family will eat and how much space you have in your freezer. A whole beef will be about 900 pounds of meat, a half or side is about 450 pounds, and a quarter is about 200 pounds. Of course, these amounts will vary depending on the exact weight of the particular animal you buy as no two animals are the exact same. The price of what you buy is based on what live cattle are posted at the USDA website daily. We don't charge premium price to sell to you. We try to keep appointments at the local locker where we will direct you to choose your choice cuts and how you want your beef processed. You will be responsible for paying the butcher separately supporting local businesses. Why Choose Us:
Your advantage to buying through Beck Family Farms is you will now have the highest quality beef while saving a substantial amount of money. Plus you will know exactly where your meat comes from, how the animal was treated, and what you can expect. These are some of the reasons why you will notice better flavor in beef from Beck Farms.
