Looking for an organic product to use for w**d control that can ALSO act as a mulch and help with moisture retention in your garden soil? I know! Two amazing things in one product!
SDSU is doing some research about utilizing scrap wool (wool that is not good for other fiber uses) as a natural w**d suppressant and also to retain moisture in the soil. Below is a link to an article released just yesterday by Dr. Kristine Lang of SDSU on this topic. AND we just happen to have some bags of scrap wool from our Icelandics at Bear Butte Gardens and some bags of Wool Pellets (OMRI Listed) from Crooked Fence Ranch! We had a lot of fun putting together our first picnic baskets of the season this weekend! We created an all-local spread of meats and cheeses, homemade bread and crackers, jam and sandwich spread/dressing, quinoa salad, raspberry dessert and chocolate pudding from scratch, hot tea and iced tea, craft beers, bavarian nuts, pickles! We look forward to making more baskets and changing up the ingredients as the fresh produce season progresses!
