2026 will undoubtedly take a toll on livestock and wildlife. We love them all These shirttails were enjoying an area along Lonetree Creek. We purposely left about 100 acres uncut and un-grazed on some creek bottom and some sub irrigated alfalfa for our furry and feathered friend. The deer and pronghorn are gathering closer to the few watering spots left as nearly all the dams are dry.

So... I hear that it is National Daughter's Day.... Robin and I are so blessed to be able to work with and enjoy our four girls in the every day, work a day world here at the ranch. Thank You Kiersten, Julia, Molly and Rachel. We are blessed.

We moved cows today from the Little Johnson Pasture to the hayfields. We started feeding hay over there and then yesterday we set up the electric fence around a hayfield. We did not cut any hay this year due to the drought, but there is some grazing. The cows and calves look good due to the native "hard grass" of Western Dakota. The problem this year... extreme temps and little precipitation... we are just running out of grass.

A beautiful evening at the ranch... No rain to speak of... but we will always appreciate a rainbow.

I like to eat well... Lonetree Steak, Couple of shrimp, a homemade roll (made by my better half) and a salad that has bacon as an ingredient.
By the way... at the Men's Day in the middle of September at RBR... We will be serving Lonetree Ranch Steaks. As old Andy Griffith would say.... "MMM-mmm GOOD"
