This is a post that’s been heavy on my mind, so I’m going to try my best to put it into words. Please see my heart in it & help share this for every local shop you love.

Please remember what’s available locally when you’re searching for gifts & everyday needs. From the most simple thing, to big ticket items, check those local businesses before relying on big box stores or traveling out of town.

We have lost so many great small businesses over the past few years, but it really became noticeable during, & immediately following, the pandemic. Not everyone was able to afford closing temporarily, so some shut the doors on their dreams forever.

I am so incredibly grateful that my shop has not seen the ill effects of anything when it comes to sales. Despite increasing costs of so much around us, we remain booked solid year-round. That does not go unnoticed or unappreciated ever. Thank you!

One area that has really dropped off though- sales at the storefront. People are still shopping regularly online, but the in-person traffic is very slow. Hopkins Freedom Customization has chosen to pull away from the retail space & focus more on online sales, understandably. I’ve chosen to continue that partnership in hopes of growth & am working to revamp and restock a larger space now.

Should the day come that rent no longer makes sense for a shared shop, it will be a tough one. I would love to keep the convenience of ready-made items available, especially with back to school & sports, holidays, etc on the horizon. I am doing all I can to grow that in-person business.
