Our Story
Siena Farms, a fifty-acre market farm growing fresh produce for farmers’ markets, restaurants, and a 500-member CSA community, is nestled in the fertile soils of the Sudbury River valley just twenty-five miles west of Boston. Although not certified organic, we use sustainable practices, without chemical herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, or fertilizers.
Our year-round in-town farm stores, Siena Farms South End and Siena Farms Boston Public Market, bring fresh produce to the city year-round. Come by for our veggies and other regional conscientiously sourced New England products.

Do you want a little ice cream with that CSA? Newton is lucky— there are a bounty of local CSAs that deliver to Newton and most are signing up new members for the spring and summer seasons now. Each CSA offers a slightly different twist, including Siena Farms which has a special option for kids. Even better? Pick up is at Rancatore Ice Cream so you can grab a pint or two with your cardboard box packed with farm fresh produce.

LIVESTREAM SNEAK-PEEK!
Last week, we brought you a special episode starring vegetables from the fabulous regenerative farm Siena Farms. This week, we're diving deeper into our CSA box of delicious vegetables from Siena Farms! This box was packed to the brim with all kinds of produce ranging from leafy greens to root vegetables and Mother Zen could barely wait to start cooking with them!
We were so inspired by the unique ingredients in the boxes shared with us by the amazing Chef Ana Sortun of Oleana Restaurant, we wanted to teach people how to prepare easy meals with vegetables that might be unfamiliar. On Monday, we're teaching you a gorgeous veggie filled fall harvest soup!
Join Mother Zen (and Cambridge Keanu!) on Monday night in the kitchen as she makes a delicious vegetarian European soup featuring soy chorizo and spices from Turkey, with fried green tomatoes and a soy mayo sauce on the side!
Since March 2020, VietAID has distributed over 510,000 pounds (and that number continues to grow!) of fresh produce and staple goods to the community. We could not have done this without support from our incredible partners:
● Mayor's Office of Food Access
● Fair Foods
● YMCA of Greater Boston
● World Farmers / Flats Mentor Farm
● Siena Farms
● Project Restore Us
One of our partners, Flats Mentor Farm, has provided us Vietnamese and Asian produce for the last 2 growing seasons. Flat Mentor Farms works with immigrant and refugee farmers from across the globe. This year has been devastating with two floods, both unfortunate effects from climate change, that have impacted their production. We hope that you will consider donating to their Farmer Relief Effort!
● Tổ chức World Farmers/ Flat Mentor Farms
Grateful from our head to our tomaTOES to host Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources' 36th annual tomato contest! Congratulations to all the winners and participants including two of our very own in the “heaviest” category: Siena Farms (3rd place at 2.1lbs) and our Dewey Square Farmers Market vendor Kimball Fruit Farm (1st place at 2.55lbs!!)!
Unsliced tomatoes are donated to help feed our neighbors!
After a year hiatus, MDAR was thrilled to bring back our annual Massachusetts Tomato Contest earlier today outside at the Boston Public Market!
Our celebrity panel of judges sampled a wide variety of over 70 entrants that came from local farmers all across the Commonwealth where 6.3 million pounds of 🍅 are grown every year across 569 acres of land and 16 acres of greenhouses amounting to over $17 million in value!
Congrats to E. Cecchi Farms, Red Fire Farm, Freedom Food Farm, and Kimball Fruit Farm for taking home the top prize in their respective categories and congrats to Langwater Farm, Ward's Berry Farm, Greenhouse By The Sea, Russell Orchards, C&C Reading Farm, and Siena Farms for placing among the Top 3!
Special thanks to our partners for helping us make this year’s event another huge success: Berkshire Grown, CISA, SEMAP, Worcester Regional Food Hub, Grant Family Farm, Mass Farmers Markets, and the staff at the Boston Public Market for always being gracious hosts and providing logistical support. Last but not least, we are grateful to the New England Vegetable and Berry Growers' Association for sponsoring this event!
Right now, the time is ripe for Massachusetts grown tomatoes and other summertime crops so as always, use our MassGrown map to locate your closest farm or farmers market to pick up some plump juicy 🍅🍅🍅 to slice onto salads or burgers, or chop up to make a refreshing salsa or cook a simple marinara sauce!
