All jokes aside: one bad moment. That's always our goal. And really, they don't know the moment is even coming. It's all as quick as possible for them (not as quick for us with preparing, cleaning, processing, butchering)

So close you can almost taste the bacon 🥓 😅

This is our first time raising kunekunes just to see what happens. So far, they're more similar to dogs but still scream at us like normal pigs every time they see us - acting like they have never had food in their life.

Time sure flies when you're losing sleep 😴

Meat chickens are getting chonky ✔️
Pig butchering season has begun ✔️
3 pigs processed and butchered last weekend ✔️
At least 6 more feeder pigs to go 🫠 (feeder pigs aren't pictured, 1 we did was 370 pounds)
Quail are hatching weekly and grow outs are doing so well which means even more quail for the freezer ✔️
Ducks processed and in the freezer ✔️
Peppers have been picked and we are peppered out ✔️ not all of the peppers are pictured 😅

🚨Breaking News: Babies Everywhere!🚨

Our farm grew by 2 feet last month — and right on cue, a whole other litter of piglets are looking for their own new adventure. 🐷👶

Since we’re now juggling diapers and snouts, we’re making space (and sleep!) a top priority.

These piglets are wanting new pastures to root around in! ✨🏡 Numbers (💸) have been reduced so we can get back to focusing on our family 🥰

🐷 mom is a Berkshire x Duroc, dad is a Berkshire
🐷 born May 14, 2025 (8 weeks old as of July 9, 2025)
🐷 when 4+ go to the same home, it ends up lighter on your wallet 😉

Me this morning: "dang, Winnie. When are you going to release those hostages?"

Winnie, probably, this afternoon: "riiiiiiight NOW 🥰🤪"

Up next: Dahlia. I'm probably jinxing it, but her and Winnie are so in tune that they typically give birth within 24 hours or less of each other. Dahlia gives birth to significantly less but helps nurse the over abundance of piglets that Winnie has.
