Are we cool enough to have merch???....I don't know, but guess what, we got some!!

It's been a busy week, but thankful for the perfect weather we had for so many days in a row! 1st Hay Harvest of 2026 is donzo!!!
Did you know to make one bale, you need 5 different pieces of equipment!?! Takes 4-5 days, first cut with the sickle-let dry, tedder-let dry, rake into rows-let dry some more, sensing a theme here...we need it not to rain lol...then bale it all up and load into the trailer/unload into the hay barn! That last step is the hardest part and takes your own two hands and one strong back!
We have been harvesting our own hay for 8 years now and the last two years our boys are finally big enough to take some of the lifting off our backs. We make our square bales 4ft. by 20in. that way the average person can pick them up and are of course available to purchase to feed your farm animals like they feed ours. 😊
A new first for the week is, I sheared the sheep myself...last year we hired it out, he made it look easy enough...nope! And I do have my cosmetology license, but I won't be expecting a tip lol, I got it done, but I hope I do a better job next year 😆 they look so much cuter before with all that beautiful soft wool, then after. Between those two things I feel like I've been thrown down a flight of stairs, and baking & making into the night will seal the deal for my back, so I should sleep good tonight!

But nonetheless the stand will be out and stocked tomorrow Saturday June 6th from 10:00am-7:00pm in the open field near the corner of Borah Hill Rd. & Westpoint Rd

Been a busy month full of hard work & milestones...we finally got our sunflower patch, pumpkin patch and garden planted. Our lil sheep family is reunited. Celebrated 24 years of marriage 🧡 and our first born graduated FUHS & Fairfield Career & Tech as a licensed RDA, just to name a few!! Our Quail love their new enclosure & been laying beautiful eggs for y'all! Why try quail eggs?

Make sure you check out the adorable handmade Emotional Support Chickens that are filled with our homegrown Lavender, they smell amazing, are so soft & squishy, come in many different colors and we now have 3 different styles to choose from.

🐖 Also don't miss out, you can reserve your family farm raised pork for fall. We have 2 whole hogs available right now, we sell them by the half or whole and you get to customize all cuts at processing. Those will be ready come September.
🐂 We have grass fed, pasture raised beef ready now in 1/4, 1/2 & whole portions as well. Message to get full details and reserve your hormone and antibiotic free, naturally raised beef that's local & well loved!

Ok from the empty bin at the stand on Saturday afternoon, I know so many moms lucked out and got their own lavender filled Emotional Support Chicken last week!
There are a few left just in time for end of the year teacher gifts! Stop on by the stand tomorrow and mix & match your faves of all the farm fresh handmade goodies to choose from and make a basket for those hard working teachers or whoever you want to give something unique to that you can't get just anywhere! "Life Lessons from the Farm"...

This old tree got knocked down in a winter storm a few months ago. Havent had time to cut it up for firewood yet so it's been laying there ever since, roots torn up and all. But...these past few weeks...it bloomed anyway!!

Kinda feels like a reminder for all of us — just because life knocks you down doesn’t mean you’re done growing. You can still bloom, right where you fell.

And these sweet little notes left at the stand recently sure helped my heart bloom too! 💛 Y’all have no idea how much kindness like that means.

The stand will of course be out tomorrow Saturday May 9th from 10:00am-6:00pm. Near the corner of Borah Hill Rd. & Westpoint Rd. Sugar Grove.

I love making everything I can from what we grow! And with the sunshine, comes time for fresh mint sun tea! I made something today you can take home and make your own mint tea with, Mint Syrup!! It's so good and can be used for so many delicious drinks and desserts! Also my kids are obsessed with Strawberry Milk...but as any mother knows...Red 40 is not on my list of things I want them to consume. So I also made an all natural Strawberry Syrup for y'all that can make so many delicious drinks & desserts or all ages! Then we always have our Lavender Syrup made from our little lavender field and it makes an amazing Lavender Latte with Lavender cold foam or my favorite, Lavender Lemonade!

When it comes to cows, we have had a few Rocky & Randy's, a Ferdinand, a T-Bone, and even a Clementine raised here on the farm, but Spot fits him well! Exciting news from the Peterspeeps Family & Farm! Kind of a de ja vu week...but with different animals & children. 😆 First off our daughter Taylor got accepted into the Nursing Program at Fairfield Career Center!!! Those of you that know her, know she has spent a majority of her life in the hospital with her special team of heart nurses and doctors. So why would she want to be in there more, well because now she can help from the other side of things with the kind of insight you only get from fighting for your life since birth! I won't get to into details or I will start crying y'all.

Also a new calf joined us last week, we still need to name him. So if you guys would drop some suggestions we can pick one as a family and if yours is picked I will send you a very special wooden token we call Cluck Bucks, good for a free handmade sourdough loaf of bread from the stand!

Other than that, YES, the stand will be out tomorrow! Saturday April 18th from 10:00am-6:00pm near the corner of Borah Hill Rd. & Westpoint Rd. Sugar Grove.
