Beginning in August for the 2026–2027 school year, Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches will be rolled out onto our Middle and High School menus as an additional meal option for students.
We will be introducing individually wrapped Uncrustables® Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches at secondary school locations in response to current food trends and student interest. Many students have expressed excitement about having this nostalgic and familiar option available. Our goal is to continue providing sustainable, tasty vegetarian meal choices that students enjoy.
Peanut butter also provides several nutritional benefits, including:
7–8 grams of plant-based protein per serving
Healthy fats that support brain development and energy
Contains over 30 essential vitamins and minerals
A vegetarian and widely accepted lunch option
To support a safe rollout process, the following procedures will be implemented:
The first day Peanut Butter & Jelly Uncrustables® will appear on the menu is August 11, 2026.
We will serve prepackaged, individually wrapped Uncrustables® to help minimize the risk of cross-contact and ensure students can clearly identify the product.
Signage will be displayed in dining areas.
Throughout the summer, our Child Nutrition team has participated in training focused on the safe handling and service of peanut-containing products.
If you have previously submitted a Request for Dietary Accommodations form to the Child Nutrition Department for a peanut allergy, that information has already been uploaded into our point-of-sale system to notify cafeteria staff of the allergy during meal service.
If you are unsure whether your student has a documented peanut allergy on file with Child Nutrition Department, or if you need to submit a new Dietary Accommodations form, please visit:

The Request for Dietary Accommodations form must be completed by a recognized medical provider and submitted to the Child Nutrition Department for review and approval. Please note that allergy information documented only with the school nurse is not shared with the Child Nutrition Department and will not generate meal service alerts unless proper documentation has been submitted and approved.
