Our grass-fed, pastured Black Angus steers are born and raised on our family farm in NW Georgia. They graze on picturesque pastures in a valley below John's Mountain and drink from a spring-fed creek running off the mountains.
How Much Will I Expect to Pay for Beef?
(Example for 1/2 steer, actual cost will vary as each steer will vary in weight)
-Deposit that is applied to your final total (1st payment) $500
-Price/weight (2nd payment): $3.75/lb based on hanging weight. For half of total hanging weight of 550lbs, half: $1031.25 - $500 deposit= $-500
-Butcher Fees (this payment will be made directly to the butcher): half slaughter fee $25 +$.46/lb processing fee. Meat is custom aged, cut to your specifications, vacuum packaged, and frozen. Approximately $178.75 per half
Total: $1031.25+ $25+ $178.75= $1235.00 (this is just an example for a half beef)
Example for whole steer at $3.50/pound hanging weight of 550 pounds hanging weight:
Total: $1925 + $50 + 357.50= $2332.50 (example for an idea of what a whole steer would cost.
