It is with profound sadness that the Rome Fire Department shares the passing of Fire Department President Ron Auerbach. Ron was a deeply respected member of the Rome Fire Department and the Rome Community. Ron has been an integral member of the fire department during his 66 years of dedicated service. We're on TV! We were super excited to have Kris Luhring Liebe and the team from American Dream TV Network out to visit the farm. Thank you so much to our friends Brick House Mercantile & Artisan Kitchen for including us in this wonderful segment.

Brick House Mercantile & Artisan Kitchen was the first restaurant to put our products on their menu! Since day one they have help to put our little farm on the map. From featuring our eggs in their retail cooler to highlighting our proteins in their artisan dinners and, most importantly, collaborating with us for our Dinners on the Farm, Brick House Mercantile has supported us and helped us grow. We truly can't thank them enough!

The pigs got some apple treats from our neighbor’s orchard today!

Our pigs spend their days rooting around our wooded pastures. They make wallows when it rains, dig in the dirt, and sleep in a pig pile. It’s a pretty good life. We still have half and whole hog shares available for this fall! Head to our website and reserve yours today!

It’s moving day for the pigs! Here’s an overview of our pasture raised pork operation.

We rotate our groups of pigs through wooded pastures around the periphery of our farm. They usually get about 1/4 acre of fresh ground every week or two. Pigs love to root, roll, and make a wallow so we would never put them on our prime sheep pasture, they would destroy it. Behind the pigs we will broadcast a cover crop of oats and peas to beat the weeds, prevent erosion, and give the pigs something to self-harvest when they rotate back through that pasture.

Reservations are open for half hogs and there are a variety of pork products available at The Stock Market or for purchase online.

**Scam Alert** There is a Facebook account that is using our name, logo, pictures, address etc. trying to get people to pay upfront for chicks, ducklings, goslings etc.

We have had multiple people reach out saying they were in contact with a Stock Family Farms (Farm with an s) and when it came time to coordinate delivery of whatever they were buying the person gets aggressive and demands payment upfront.

We have blocked and reported the account but we aren’t sure Facebook will do anything to take it down.

Please know we do not sell anything on Facebook, especially not live animals. The only way to purchase from us is via our website or Farm Store.
