We made a huge decision for our herd this weekend and are beyond excited for this little man to join us later this summer!

So excited to be sending this shortie yellow bull to Three Arrows Cattle to be their next herd sire. Big things ahead for this little man!

Spring time around here is feeling so sweet. Green grass, baby chicks (thank you Isbell Family Homestead !), a couple new pigs we aren’t certain we’ll be able to keep because they keep getting out and we all have to chase them 😅, and some very pregnant mama cows 💗

Buster is up for discussion and will be available at weaning! 🐂

This stout, high-percentage Highland bull calf is shaping up to be a great herd sire prospect. He’s sired by Buddy, a non-chondro bull with phenomenal hair, a thick build, and standing 39” at two years old. His dam, Bean, is our beautiful 42” red brindle-faced Highland cow.

Both parents are extremely docile and easy to work with, and Buster is already showing that same calm, gentle temperament.

He’s got the hair, the build, and the disposition to be a great addition to a breeding program.

Scarlett is into glamour shots and I am here for it! those brindle genes are strong! GW is a phenomenal bull and we love having his genetics in our fold.

Now that she is all settled in, we are ready to introduce you to this sweet girl we have added to our breeding stock! She falls into my “I’ll take one in every color” dream, and we fell even more in love with her when our youngest insisted on naming her after his best friend’s pretty mama 😍💛.

Meet Krystal! She is a gorgeous 4 year old yellow highland from Canadian stock that we traveled to Oklahoma to get! She is sweet and docile, and very strong as she had a rough beginning with us getting very sick from all the travel. One way to win all the Kuhns boys’ hearts is to need a little extra love and attention, and that is exactly where we are at with her. Excited for her future with us is an understatement! 💛

These two 😍. We are always a work in progress over here with developing our program, but so far we have loved being able to spend enough time with our calves that they can be both mama raised, and heavily socialized with us. It feels like the best of both worlds and is worth all the effort when we see our calves able to join their forever homes and be easily handled.
