IT'S A LOADED QUESTION.
In East Texas with 47"+ of rainfall 1/2 acre of well-managed pasture would support a sheep. That's native pasture (meaning no cover crops or fancy seedings) and a good rotational grazing system.
In West Texas with 7-9" of rainfall, you need 20x that (10 acres) to support a single sheep.
In Namibia (Africa), where droughts persist for decades, 15-20 acres is what you need to feed a sheep.
So let's turn the question around:
