National Dairy Month started in 1937 as National Milk Month to promote drinking milk due to a surplus in production. In 1939, June was named the official dairy month and has been celebrated nationwide!

Come see us this weekend and get your free ice cream sandwich at the Kentucky Special Olympics Summer Games! We are proud continued sponsors and are always excited to cheer on the athletes and provide a dairy sweet treat!

We are excited to welcome back Southland Dairy Farmers as a Silver Sponsor for our 2026 Summer Games, and not just because of the free ice cream (although that doesn't hurt)! For many years Southland Dairy has supported the Games and they provide a unique experience for our athletes with their travelling classroom and their live dairy cow.
