At Rogers Ford Farm Winery we planted our first vines in 1980 when the modern Virginia wine industry was still very much in its infancy. We were growers for many years, selling fruit to other wineries. Our first commercial vintage as a farm winery was in 2002. Our winery has grown steadily through the years, not unlike the vines themselves, and we are very proud to have three generations of family

working together in the vineyard, winery, and tasting room. We currently produce just over 1000 cases a year, which is tiny by most standards, and that’s the way we like it. Limited and small-case lots allow us to craft wine of rarity and distinction, a product that is unique, genuine, and honest. You’ll discover a new favorite when you taste Rogers Ford wine.

What a beautiful weekend to explore local wine. ☀ The winery tasting room is open Saturday 12-6 and Sunday 12-5, pouring a full flight of Rogers Ford's wines alongside Sangria spritzers and beer for anyone who wants to linger a little longer. Choose your own tasting adventure: interactive at the bar or DIY at a table outside in the shade.

Beyond the farm, you can also visit our tent at the dynamic Bull Run Wine Festival in Centreville alongside local wineries Saturday and Sunday! Get your tickets at bullrunwinefestival.com/get-tickets/ and use code ROGER10 to save 10% off general admission.

History Alert! 📜✒️

Did you know the oldest portion of the Farmhouse was likely built in the 1820s? This is the main section of the house, where you walk in and have a guided tasting at the bar.

It was built with timber frame/post-in-beam construction. Horizontal and vertical beams were connected with treenails!🌳🔎

Come by to experience this history yourself and have a glass of something local and delicious this weekend. The farm is open 12-6PM on Saturday and 12-5PM on Sunday.

This past week’s frost event on April 21 was a tough one for our region. We’ve heard from many friends and fellow growers who experienced serious damage, in some cases losing entire blocks. Our hearts are with them. This kind of setback is part of farming, but that doesn’t make it any easier.

Here at Rogers Ford we did see some frost damage across the vineyard. You can see it in these photos some shoots were hit hard, while others are already pushing through again. It’s a reminder of just how fragile this moment in the growing season can be.

We feel very fortunate but time will tell. The impact here was significant but not devastating. A few factors likely helped us: Vidal Blanc tends to bud later than many varieties, our vines are a bit older, and we typically delay pruning, which can slow early growth just enough to avoid the worst of a late frost. And trust me, everyone is doing this and more to protect their vines.

That said, there’s still a long season ahead, and a lot can change between now and harvest. Farming keeps us humble.

If you’re a fan of Virginia wine, this is a moment to support your local wineries. Many are facing real challenges after this event, and every visit, every bottle, truly matters.

We’ll keep you posted as the vineyard continues to wake up for the season.

Springtime celebrations like Easter are times where great food and the right wine bring out the best in each other. There's something extra special about featuring local ingredients on your table, and wine is no exception! Here are a few pairings from Rogers Ford Farm Winery:

Two wines that shine here are Jacob Christopher Chardonnay, bright and versatile, perfect for pairing with roasted vegetables or chicken dishes; and Petit Verdot, beautiful alongside herb-crusted rack of lamb or a classic glazed ham.

A few more pairing options include:
🌼 Petit Manseng — crisp and aromatic, a lovely match for roasted chicken, creamy scalloped potatoes, or a spring cheese board
🍷 Cabernet Franc — earthy and elegant, a natural match for herb-crusted lamb, glazed ham, or a savory roasted tenderloin

The tasting room is open Saturday, April 4 from 12-6. Stop in and find something worth celebrating with, and enjoy a tasting in the beautiful sunshine!

Please note that the tasting room will be closed Sunday, April 5 for Easter.
