It's a great Sunday for a outing, it's a little warm and looks like it could rain these are the days I love best sitting outside under our primitive constructed tarp shelter. See I love the rain, and stormy weather but sitting under the tarp shelter makes it so nice the rain sounds so good pounding on the tarp.
The construction of the tarp shelter is relatively easy, 5 support poles, 4 cross poles , and a spool of tie down rope and something to dig with, and the last thing needed is a big waterproof, and fire proof tarp. You raise the support post, tie off the cross beams, and pull the tarp over and tie it off to the corners middles and ground.

Some great things about this school and how we teach you to survive in the wilderness, there are 4 levels of this program, basic, intermediate, advanced, and expert, the basic and intermediate levels are good for all ages, as long as mom or dad comes alone with them, basic is like learning how to camp you have full kits, supplies, and the stuff you need to make easy good shelters, it also teaches you about hunting, fishing, trapping, and collecting wilderness necessities like fire wood, medicinal herbs, wild editiables, and teaches you primitive fire making. It's lots of fun for the family, intermediate is more challenging, and it gets way more challenging, and quite a bit harder, once you reach a expert level you will have a test, the test will consist of you spending 4 days under observation, by our staff but receiving no help, you will have only a survival knife , and no other supplies, you will have to build stable shelter, start a decent sustainable fire, eat a meal that you pecure from primitive hunting, primitive fishing, primitive trapping, or foraging. Let's talk about the basic of planning, there are some very basic questions you should ask yourself and these questions will help you determine what type of kit, gear, supplies, and special needs equipment you may need to pack.

One of the most basic questions is, were am I going to, is it woods, desert, artic, tropical, or a mixture of environments, the second most basic question is, in what season am I going, is it spring, summer, fall, winter, this will help you determine things, like do I need warm thermals, or cool short sleeves, do I need cold weather rated sleeping bag, or warm weather bag. These are few simple examples.
Before you even pick up a rucksack, you should spend about 2 weeks planning your trip. We teach a 20 questions check list, that will help you plan your trip out completely.

Please note there could be many other situations were you can't plan for, like your driving down the road and you have no cell service, and you hundreds of miles from nearest township, and your car dies, you got to hike into town, or hike to get a signal, you may have to camp over night, what do you do, how do you stay safe, or warm, in our school we teach you how to survive, and thrive, comfortable in a uncomfortable situation.

There are so many possible scenarios that you may encounter, and when you do be prepared to face them. We can help you get there, help you be prepared. Maybe you just want to walk off the grid forever live off the land, whatever your drive is whatever your goal is we can help you become a expert in survival. Just give us a call.
