New Name Update!

What's in a name? I knew exactly what I wanted the farm to feel like: lush, a little mysterious, hidden away from the noise. The kind of place that feels like you've stumbled upon something special.

What I didn't have was a name that captured it. After countless ideas, one finally surfaced that captures the unique atmosphere that's being built.

Orphic Glades.
Orphic: associated with mystery, enchantment, beauty, and experiences that feel beyond ordinary understanding. Not because they're impossible to explain, but because they're better experienced than described.

Glade: a clearing within the woods - a place where the trees open up, light filters through, and the atmosphere shifts.

A hidden clearing surrounded by nature. A place that invites curiosity. A place where greenery climbs the walls, grain bins become gathering spaces, celebrations happen under the stars, and everyday life slows down for a while. A place designed to feel immersive, intentional, and just a little magical.

The farm may still be growing and being built, but it finally has a name that feels like home.

Farm Update 🌿

Days like today remind me why I started this journey. Spending time outside with my daughters, away from screens, and enjoying nature together.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous today, so the girls and I headed out to the property to grab some moasure measurements while imagining everything that’s about to grow here. There’s something really special about standing in an open field that used to be nothing but trees and being able to picture the future before it exists.

Next week the grading will wrap up and right after that we’ll start flagging the footprint for our polycarbonate greenhouse. The entire layout is being designed to work with the sun so the space feels alive capable of producing crops year-round. The vertical towers we’ll be growing with use very minimal water while having a high production rate, making them incredibly efficient and sustainable.

One of the things I’m most excited about is the structures themselves. Instead of traditional farm buildings, I'm designing repurposed, one-of-a-kind spaces using shipping containers and other reclaimed materials like our two big grain bins. Not being one to follow the norm, I'll be putting a modern touch to them that'll give the complex a "nature oasis meets funky-chic" spin. Every building will have its own personality and purpose, and the main container farm building is already in the design phase.

And of course… what’s a farm without animals? I'm also planning custom animal pens & snuggle stations built from containers so our future farm babies have cozy, safe homes with a little Lazy Creek style.

Lots of movement behind the scenes. This place is slowly turning from sketches and ideas into something real.

From a 3D printer to a growing powerhouse. 🌿

Say hello to our first Lazy Creek Farm grow tower. Not only will it serve as a learning tool before we purchase commercial towers for the farm, it was 3D printed by my dad adding to the hands-on, creative focus of the farm.

The vertical grow towers will let us grow using very little water, zero pesticides, and will be fully climate controlled allowing us to grow year round. Cleaner crops, faster cycles, and room for rare + unique varieties. The future of the farm starts small…and stacks up.

We will be offering a subscription box with various fruits, veggies & farm products that will keep you excited for what's coming next. Our focus is to offer unique and out-of-season crops so we can grow alongside Summerfield traditional farmer's scene, not compete with it. Stay tuned for our progress!
