Exciting times.

Reaching back in the tank on this breeding.

DB Dixie has a shot of Cyclone’s sire way back in the pedigree, & I just so happened to have him in my tank.

Production & Meat Quality in a powerful package.

This will also be my first attempt to breed using frozen. so wish me luck.

I’ll also be using several old line frozen boars on my old line herd this fall.

We are starting to produce a lot of really nice Old Line Duroc boars.
I decided to start making these available for people wanting high quality boars that do their job and produce excellent meat.

These boars are weighing 220 lbs at 165 days. That is pretty good for these lines.

The Penny Line part 2

When I first started (4 years ago) with this line I only had a small handful of genetics to utilize.

I started with HLF Clean Lady 21-9 & HLF Ironman 18-3 Aka Heretic.
Both were too frail for me but I saw some things I liked and built on it.
I kept 2 - 4 litter daughters out of that breeding and bred them to DAD Mojo 6-2. Mojo is a 1/2 sib breeding using WLLH Landlord on Royal Pearl 10-4.

I then bred those daughters back to their sire to see if I could add some much needed structure without taking away from 21-9’s femininity!
To my surprise it worked.
My philosophy was to build more power on a sound yet frail type of base.
Today’s Penny line has me very excited. You’ll see that 16-7 Penny has good structure, sound frame yet feminine in her underline and phenotype.
Plus her mother, grandmother and great grandmother were excellent mothers.

I have 3 excellent gilts bred to Cadet Jr 7-1 for September pigs.
