While the rest of the hens are moving around, fussing, and trying to get settled…

There’s Gertrude —perfectly content, all fluffed up, and sitting in her nesting box like she’s got everything figured out 😌

No side eye.No attitude.No rush whatsoever.

Just calm, peaceful, and minding her own business like,“I’ll get to it when I get to it.” 😂

Honestly… Gertrude might be the most relaxed one in the whole hen house.

And we’re all just over here wishing we had a little bit of her patience 🥚💛

😅 Miltida – up, down, turning circles like,
“This don’t feel right… hold on… wait… maybe this side…”
😒 Big Bertha – staring me down like,
“If you don’t walk away right now, we’re gonna have a problem.”
And over in the smaller hen house…
👑 Penelope – prefers peace and quiet, no interruptions, and absolutely does not like to be bothered
She’s got her own space and plans to keep it that way 😂

Meanwhile I’m just trying to quietly check on them like I’m not interrupting the most important meeting of the day 😅

🌞🐔 Morning Rush Hour at Bailey’s Happy Hen House 🐔🌞

This morning looked like I was opening the doors to a Black Friday sale 😅

They were all stacked up at the door, staring me down like,“Ma’am… you’re late.” 👀

As soon as I stepped in — it was GAME ON. Everybody circling, crowding, and waiting for me to throw feed in their dishes like I’m feeding a stadium crowd 😂

And of course… Big Bertha had other priorities. Straight to the laying box like,“Y’all fight over breakfast… I’m clocking in.” 🥚🐔

Meanwhile I’m just trying to walk without tripping over 20+ hungry chickens, roosters and guineas with zero personal space 😅

Farm life is peaceful they said… 🤣

You’d think we hadn’t fed these chickens in a week… 😂

The minute we step inside it’s like:
🚨 “FOOD LADY IS HERE!!” 🚨

They come running, pushing, flapping, and acting like it’s an all-you-can-eat buffet that might disappear at any second.

No manners. No personal space. Just feathers and determination. 😅

Meanwhile, they form a perfect little circle like a breakfast meeting…

Agenda:

-Eat

-Eat faster

-Don’t let anyone else eat

And somehow after all that chaos… they go lay us some beautiful eggs 🥚💛

We may run the farm… but let’s be honest…they run the breakfast schedule. 😂

🐓🥚 WE ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN! 🥚🐓

Our self-serve egg box at Bailey’s Happy Hen House is now OPEN! 🎉

We still have a few finishing touches to add (we’re working on making it look more like a little hen house 🐔), but we’re excited to finally be up and running!

🥚 We have 9 dozen in and ready for pickup this afternoon, and our box will be fully stocked in the morning!

🕘 Self-Serve Hours:
Monday – Saturday: 9 AM – 7 PM
🚫 No Sunday sales please

We rotate our eggs as we add them to the box, and no eggs are left overnight to ensure freshness.

Just pull up, follow the directions on the box, and enjoy your farm fresh eggs!

🐔🥚 Meet Matilda… the “Self-Proclaimed” Boss 🥚🐔

This is Matilda, and in her mind… she runs the entire hen house.
Now let’s be clear — Big Bertha is the real boss around here… but nobody told Matilda that. 😂
She has officially claimed this nesting box as her office and is currently “working hard” supervising egg production, giving out directions, and making sure everyone knows she’s in charge.
The other hens just let her have her moment… because sometimes it’s easier that way. 😅
We’ll go ahead and let her think she’s the boss… as long as she keeps laying those beautiful eggs! 🥚🐔

We’re loving our new clear cartons and labels — the eggs look almost too pretty to eat!
Our self-serve egg box is coming along, and we can’t wait until everything is finished and ready for everyone to use. We’ll be sharing updates as we get closer to having it completed.
Until then, you’re still welcome to stop by and grab some fresh eggs. If you’d rather not get out of your vehicle, just send a message and I’ll bring a dozen (s) out to you. We have 6 dozen ready to go.

🐓 Hen House Update from Bailey’s Happy Hen House 🥚

Today’s project at the hen house has been adding more nesting boxes. The ladies have been laying so well that we decided it was time for an upgrade. We’re now up to 20 nesting boxes, so everyone has their own little egg-laying suite.
Of course, trying to organize the coop with chickens walking everywhere is like trying to clean your house with toddlers following you around. Every box we moved had a few curious inspectors making sure we were doing it right.
We’re also making sure everything is buckled down and storm-ready for tonight. The coop is secure, the nesting boxes are fluffed, and the hens are settling in.
I’m sharing a few pictures of the coop, but not all the chickens are shown — some of the girls are currently busy laying in the smaller hen house. Addition to our hens we have 4 roosters and 3 guineas. Life is not boring at Bailey's Happy Hen House!🐔🥚
