Yesterday was probably the hottest race day we've had all year.
I got to the track around 9:00 AM and didn't pull out until after 2:00 AM. Before the racing started, the track took time to honor Jim Brackett, a fellow racer we lost in a tragic accident at our track about a month ago. It was a touching tribute and a reminder that racing is more than competition—it's a family.
The day itself turned into a marathon. A couple of catastrophic failures led to long cleanups, but despite the heat, we were able to finish the race program.
By the time I got home, I was down about 2.5 pounds from sweating. Throughout the day I had 3 Water Sux Hydration packs, 1 Water Sux Energy pack, and about 4 bottles of water.
What stood out wasn't how I felt at the track—it was how I felt when I got home. No leg cramps. No dehydration headache. No waking up in the middle of the night with my calves tied in knots.
That's exactly why we created Water Sux. Long days in the heat are hard enough without paying for it later.
If you're someone who works outside, races, coaches ball, spends weekends at tournaments, or just struggles with cramps after being in the heat all day, it might be worth giving Water Sux a try.
We did manage to have our first race with the Jr dragster having a stumble. Thank goodness. I did manage to make it down to 9 cars before falling completely out of the car. The only challenge from the weather was the extreme heat and we had that covered.
