So far we are doing okay keeping up with our 9 raised beds πŸ™ but its not July yet πŸ˜†

Chris' tomato bed (1st pic) looks amazing and is thriving.

We had more rain coming Sunday so I took some time to clean goat shelters out so they had new dry areas to hang out. All that p**p went onto the raised beds. One benefit of goat and rabbit p**p is its considered a "cool" fertilizer and thus can be added straight away. Hoping the rain will slow feed these plants some great nutrients. We are low on the bean and flower count despite planting a month ago so we threw more of them in just about anywhere. Praying they grow fast. There were some tomatoes that got some sort of leaf spot or discoloration so I rescued those and added them to the back bed, and so far they look great now though a bit wild. The kids raked some old goat hay and we threw it on for mulch. Hopefully it helps hold moisture in the bed and maybe even slow the weeds down. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ im not a gardener guys.

The theme this year is turning into "go ahead and plant it and throw some p**p on it. Maybe it will grow maybe not, but we have nothing to lose" πŸ˜‰

The newest wild thing discovered. The kids found a big cacoon on a fence we were setting up. So they decided to find a safe spot to let it develop and see what it turned into.

Apparently it turned into the biggest moth in North America. A Cecropia moth 😳 so cool to get to see one of these up close, even if just briefly before it flew off.

My sourdough preference, crust you can actually chew through. A little on the blonde side cook wise. Add in some goat milk instead of water and you get more chew and a loaf that stays soft for nearly a week. I threw some scapes in this one, though to be honest it could handle more. And added some goat cheese to pair with a sharp cheddar.

Mmmmmmmmm

Finally got some sunshine this week and got the rest of the beds and buckets planted. Now lets hope the nice weather keeps up and we can remember to water things to help them establish.

This girl deserved a permanent spot on the feed...
I am all for team no ears but man Kinder babies can be so cute.
Lily has been a looker since day one, absolutely love her markings, and she is such a stout little thing. She is also super sweet, I am excited to see how she grows.

Tomatoes are all planted (well minus the cherry tomatoes) and tucked in with a nice blanket of chopped straw. We have found this really helps hold moisture in the dirt with the hot weather we get. Added in some basil and marigolds for companions.

The power of a turd πŸ˜†

While weeding the tomato beds again as we prepare to plant in a couple weeks, we came upon a little turd ball jammed packed full of some sort of sprouting things.
Amazing how many were taking advantage of this ready made fertilizer. No idea if its a rabbit or goat turd as we fortified with some of both this year.
