Itās been a while since Iāve been here.
My starter sat in the back of the refrigerator, untouched for months. I thought she was a goner, but trusty old Sassy (my sourdough starterās name) is still alive and well.
Sourdough truly is resilient. š¤
Tomorrow is my birthday.
Wednesday, I picked up my youngest from daycare, and my sweet baby is sick!
Instead of being stressed about missing a few days of work, I found a sense of peace and comfort. Itās been a while since Iāve gotten non-committed time with my kids.
Not a weekend of cleaning and resetting the house because we donāt have time during the week. Not an agenda or a party to attend. Just being home, together.
Even though one is sick, Iām grateful for the time I get to snuggle and enjoy my babies. Iām finding the joy in every moment.
I ordered flour and other ingredients for a long weekend of sourdough baking (thank God for Walmart delivery š), and Iāll spend this birthday weekend making memories with my family.
Baking some of my favorite things and loving the season we are in right now.
For a long time, sourdough sat pushed aside because life was overwhelming. I had a second baby, returned to work, and between the day-to-day tasks of housekeeping, kids, and work, I just couldnāt find the time.
Earlier this morning, I found myself scrolling through my past posts, and I am so proud that I was able to learn sourdough and teach others how to bake it as well! š¤
Maybe itās time to bring Sassy back. š„š¤
P.S. - I no longer offer sourdough for sale. I donāt have the capacity to add one more thing to my plate and I much prefer to teach you how to make it anyway š¤£
