So your garden is finally planted, your plants are thriving, until one day, you go to check on them and find that some critter has made a meal of your tomato plants! Fortunately, tomatoes are very resilient. Here are two ways to "save" your tomato plants:
1️⃣ if the damage is recent, try replanting them deeply and water thoroughly. Tomatoes can grow roots from along the stem. All those little "hairs" on a tomato stem can turn into roots.
2️⃣ if the damage is too severe and the plant is beyond saving, recruit a fellow gardener for help. Take an established tomato plant and look for the "sucker" growing out from between the main stem and the branch (see pic). Pinch off that sucker and place in water for a few days. New roots will form, and you'll have a brand new tomato plant!
