We want to celebrate the young contributers to our farm market! In a day when youth get a bad rap for being un-motivated: we have 3 local young people who are doing their best to pave their way. Let's support and encourage them.
A 13 year old who has had his own firewood business for 3 years! He cuts the tree down, hauls them out, cuts to length, splits, loads, delivers, and for an extra fee, will stack. Did I mention he is 13 years old!
A beautiful, artistic young lady who recently graduated high school and has desires of homesteading. Her watercolor note cards and paintings are reflective of the homestead life and nature in the Sumner area. These originals are all one of a kind pieces of art, not prints. Any one would make a special gift for someone who appreciates art and nature.
A young man of similar age who works a job, and on the side has been foraging fiddleheads. A task that is both peaceful, and hard on the back! Hiking in, picking, battling heat, rain and bugs. Packaging and delivering to the farm market so that we all can enjoy this short season, native treasure. (will be here Saturday)
3 young local people. All making this community better in their own special ways. Let's continue to financially support them, encourage them, and hope that they continue to be hard working, thriving members of this community for years to come!
See you at the Haven Acres farm market Fri - Sat 10am -2pm.
