A Wrinkle in Thyme Farm is a women-run, diversified farm specializing in wool products from our sheep, maple syrup, meat, eggs, and education. The farm name comes from Madeline L’Engle’s idea of tesseract, or time travel. At A Wrinkle in Thyme Farm, we like to do things the old-fashioned way when we can. We use a draft horse for collecting sap for maple syrup, dye wool with plants from the farm, b
ake bread in our outdoor earth oven, and teach people to spin and knit their own yarn. Our flock of sheep includes Bilbo Baggins, our three-quarter Finnsheep ram, and a bunch of friendly Border Leicester, Finn, and Romney cross ewes. Our farm store offers you the luxury of wool from animals you can meet, processed in a sustainable manner, and spun locally in Maine. We shear, wash, dye, and card the fiber right here on the farm. We have a large variety of 100% wool yarn dyed with both acid and natural dyes. We also have angora-blend yarn with locally sourced angora, Thyme Tile needlefelting kits, fiber art created by Marty, roving, batts, raw fleeces, knitted items, patterns, and more. We offer fiber CSAs and an Adopt-A-Lamb program as ways to support the farm throughout the seasons. Workshops and retreats at the farm include Yarn and Yoga weekends, dyeing classes, needlefelting and wet felting classes, tours for school groups, and weekly knitting groups. We love sharing and teaching about our farm. We invite you to come visit (just call ahead), and see everything that’s happening here. Find us online at www.awrinkleinthymefarm.com
