Today's farm activities: Teaching the 7 month old LGD to be patient while we find her "big land" to protect, teaching a 7th grader to draw Canada from memory...and hopefully restructuring the garden for fall planting.
for the Lord to bring us home or bring us "big land"!

RIP -Scarlett...

It was a heavy day here at WFF. We had school, orders to fulfill, and technicians to arrange appts at the new property for...and we had to cull our sweet Scarlett. She was the most tender, easy-going chicken you ever did meet. When we had visitors who wanted to hold a chicken but were afraid, Scarlett was always who we chose for them to hold. She had been in "retirement" in her own pen for a few months now, so we knew it was coming. None of this makes it easy to take a life, yet it's part of our life.
