Widdoss Farm & Apiary Welcome to our farm - located in Sunbright TN we just planted a lot of fruit trees and can't wait to What the heck were we thinking? In April 2021, we sold it!

In April 2014 we bought our farm - 39 acres in Greenville AL, no friends, no family living here, just dreams and visions of getting out of the rat race of life and finding a simplier way of living. We work harder now, but knowing where your food came from, what you are eating and that you did it yourself is well worth the reward! A little sad and heartbreaking after all the hard work that went int

Out with the old, extra pasture for the cows! 🐮✨

Two weeks ago, we officially said goodbye to our double-wide trailer. We auctioned it off a few months back, and watching it roll off the property was a true full-circle moment after living in it for almost 6 years while building our new house.

It served us so well, but opening up that land feels good. We don’t have immediate plans for the spot just yet, so in true farm fashion, we’re letting the grass grow and turning it over to the cattle! 🌿

Here are the pictures of the new hay barn with the lean too finished on it. The new hay feeding pad, located directly across the driveway, is now completed. No more muddy pastures around the hay rings! I put some hay in it to test it out 😁

Part two of what’s happening at Widdoss Farm & Apiary in the kitchen today….When it’s far too hot for farm chores outdoors, you bring the work inside! ☀️🚜

The kitchen has been full steam ahead today 👩‍🍳. Between baking up fresh loaves of potato flake sourdough bread 🍞 and shredding cheese 🧀, we hit a brand-new homesteading milestone: two dehydrators running simultaneously! ♨️ The second one is currently holding a batch of homemade yogurt. 🥣

Nothing beats making the most of a hot summer day indoors. What are you whipping up in your kitchen this weekend? 👇✨

Morning from the kitchen at Widdoss Farm & Apiary! 🍑🥒☀️

It’s been a little while since our last post, but we’ve been hard at work keeping up with summer’s bounty!

Today’s kitchen adventures are all about preserving the season:

🍑 Fresh slices of ripe white peaches are loaded into the dehydrator, filling the house with the sweetest summer aroma.

🥒 Slices of fresh cucumbers are soaking up the afternoon rays outside for sweet sun pickles—letting nature do what it does best!

There is nothing quite like capturing the flavor of summer to enjoy down the road.

What’s harvesting or brewing in your kitchen or garden today? Let us know in the comments! 👇

The realities of farm life. We are one less hen today ☹️. The scene of the crime. You can see a trail of feathers that led off into the woods. Early morning not quite daylight and chickens must have been outside already because there were no feathers in the coop. Unfortunately the electric netting has a weak shock right now with wet grass and little too much grass. My guess is a fox because no struggle inside the chicken yard by the lack of feathers.

Almost 3 months in the new house, and we’re slowly turning every corner into home! 🏡🌾

Between daily farm work and getting settled, the small functional projects make the biggest difference. Today’s mission was taming the garage shoe situation!

Between muck boots, work boots, chore shoes, and everything in between, the garage floor was quickly becoming a boot obstacle course. Today, every single pair officially got a dedicated home off the floor. 🥾✨

No more tripping over boots after a long day of chores—just a clean floor and a little more order in our daily routine. One project at a time! 🔨🚜

Carport is anchored down and officially read for storage at the new house - there is nothing this determined farm can’t do!

Even though we decided it probably would have been faster to tear it down and rebuild with all the hours it look getting it level and secured.

No more upside-down chickens around here. We’ve always said the wind out here is wild—guess Mother Nature wanted to make sure everyone believed us!

🚜 Farm updates take a backseat for a very important project! 🔨

We stepped away from the fields and the critters today to head out for a special assignment. Our sweet grandson turns 2 years old next week, and his brand-new swing set arrived—but it required a little "assembly required" teamwork from Mimi and JPa!

There's nothing better than building memories (and backyard playgrounds) for the grandbaby. Happy early 2nd birthday to our favorite little guy! ❤️👦🏼✨
