✨New Year, New Projects: Client Highlights!✨

Today we're sharing the first of four client projects that are getting us excited in the new year.

🐔Reed Farm / Sunderland, MA

is taking a major step forward this year by transitioning their poultry processing facility to USDA inspection, expanding access to federally inspected processing for poultry farmers across the region. This milestone reflects Reed’s continued investment in compliance, quality, and capacity, while preserving the farmer-centered values that have defined their work. Looking ahead, Reed Farm is laying the groundwork to expand value-added processing, opening new market opportunities for local producers and strengthening the regional meat value chain.

Every year, an animal science class of sophomores from visits the farm for a tour and hands-on poultry processing workshop! And every year, we're impressed with these students' questions, engagement, and clear passion for animal care and livestock farming!

Moving chickens fresh from the brooder out to grass! Every chicken is carefully handled and transported to their new home where they can roam freely and safely under cover of the greenhouse.

Reed Farm broilers are fed a custom nonGMO feed from Green Mountain Feeds and forage on organically maintained pastures.

Have you noticed crispier skin after cooking your chicken?

For the past year, all poultry processed at Reed Farm is now air-chilled. That includes not only Reed Farm poultry products but also the chicken, duck, and turkey from your local farms that use Reed Farm for processing! (You'll see "Reed Farm" at the bottom right corner of the label.)
