Our little slice of land has been very busy lately. We have been raising chicks this spring with the intention of keeping and rehoming some.this year is the first year since we opened our “The Hen Den” in 2021 we got unexpected roosters (I rehabbed one a couple of years ago). This year we got 3 roosters from the same chicken ranch that was pretty sure they were all going to be hens. All three of them are very kind and enjoyed watching the kids play. Today they found their new homes all together. Tonight I tucked in 17 hens, each one with their own distinct personalities. It was hard to say goodbye to the boys but, Onyx was too loud and we didn’t want to upset our neighbors. Luckily for them it sounds like they are already enjoying their new home and the 15 year old boy is smitten with them. We will post pictures of our garden soon.
