We’ll have carrots, broccoli, chard, cabbage and more at Jonesborough Farmers Market Saturday. Come out and see us. I planned on growing a lot more carrots this year, and although I was quite successful in my efforts, now I need to figure out how to plow them up instead of digging them by hand. Oh, and also the refrigeration trailer is overloaded with produce. Problems of abundance. 😆

Bo and I made the delivery 🚚 yesterday to Three Rivers Market in Knoxville. He loves to go on road trips and I love having his company. We restocked the store with green cabbage, green onions bunches, collards, beets, broccoli, carrots, Butterhead lettuce and romaine lettuce. Check them out if you are in the Knoxville area! The staff is friendly and helpful plus they have a very nice selection.

Playing catch with the harvest. When I was a kid, my mom told me don’t play with your food. Now I make a living playing with my food. 😆

When I was planning this garden I discussed the use of landscape fabric with other market gardeners. Many warned that it’s difficult or nearly impossible to remove with weeds and plants entangled. I said, “Hold my beer”! Haha. This method actually does two things, removes the fabric and rolls up much of the plant matter at the end of the row so I can more easily scoop it with the bucket loader for the compost pile.

The water was actually quite cool and refreshing in this heat. I was just glad not to slip.

Pigs coming soon so we need our electric fence line powered across the creek. A bit of an adventure. I used the string line to suspend and pull the wire through the trees and across The Big Creek that we are so blessed to live on. So far so good. Tomorrow I’ll make the connections and fire it up.

We are blessed with some very loyal customers who come out often in rain or shine.

One of the things that makes our eggs the best is the salad bar buffet they get daily during the garden season. We produce so much produce that the scraps and the extras are more than enough to make our chickens happy and healthy. In fact, we should have plenty to satisfy the pigs we will be raising this year.
