Parrot Mansion loading. Electrical completed. Spray Foam guy coming next week. He’s also spraying inside new Macaw area—our 14 year old birds will have outdoor aviary attached for daily flying in fresh air, not just inside their container condo. I’ll be posting as things progress.

Mr Darcy is still being standoffish and skittish. One day I will tame him. Benedict will sit on hands or shoulders for a little bit. Once I get them in the Parrot Mansion, we will have more comfort level and time for training.

Here’s some exciting news… two animals are coming to the Farm. Should be weaned at the breeder’s compound in about 10 days. Introducing Indian Ringneck Parrots, Mr. Darcy (Blue Pied coloring) and Benedict aka Benny (Violet colored). I’ve got an outdoor aviary ready but recently purchased a shed that will get retrofitted with insulation, drywall, paint, AC unit… hopefully completed before the AZ summer heat ramps up. It will be a lot of training how to fly, learning and trust. I’m excited for the challenge.
Some of you know we have 2 Macaws that are flight trained, they are mostly my husband’s babies we’ve had for 14 years—these 2 boys will be my babies.

The sad part of being an owner of animals, when you have to put them down. RIP, Dalton. You were a good boy. šŸ’™ 🐐

We had a bobcat attack again. It’s been a long time since we’ve had this happen. For now I’m going outside every night to place these lazy hens inside the coop for safety. We have a plan now though. Husband got a lot of metal, we already went over where to place it. Building a 20x20 run, all strong grate metal instead of the netting in the current aviary, we won’t have any more hens dying from wildlife.
Anyway. I’m going to be placing an order and delivery of chicks in 2026. I’ve got one Salmon Favorelle and she is pretty cute. If you know anyone who breeds these locally, reach out. Or hens for sale, I’m interested. I will add some other breeds to my order too.
Happy Holidays! šŸŽ„ šŸŽ…šŸ»

Got some young hens (month old) last night. Sorry, my adult girls are so loud in the morning, but you can hear their little chick peeps in between.

Pretty sure it was everyone’s good vibes for Captain Jack that he made a huge turn around the last couple days, and his face suddenly had no swelling this morning! Exotic Vet did a sinus rinse and anti-inflammatory shot just to help him but no more meds to continue at home. šŸ™Œ 🦚 šŸ“¦
Thank you 😊

UPDATE ON CAPTAIN JACK: 🦚 He was improving but sinus swelling has returned. Started treating entire flock with antibiotics many days ago in hopes it would help him. So I’m not selling chicken eggs until rounds of meds are completed and cleared. We have Exotic Vet recheck on Thursday, I’m not sure what will happen, I don’t want to escalate treatment into testing (which is $600 for lab) she may want to do another sinus rinse and anti-inflammatory shot which helped a lot, he looked great the next day. We will see.
