I was extremely fortunate to have these two wonderful women throughout my childhood and young adult life. Not many people can say they grew up with their grandparents, let alone great grandparents. Like most families, our special family occasions are synonymous with memories and food. I remember the smells of their kitchens for weekend visits or holidays.
