A few days ago I had a little pep talk with Hocus Pocus and asked her to please give us a chocolate, blue-eyed, polled doeling. I then informed my husband if she had two, we were keeping both. He rolled his eyes at me and said that's a long trait order, and good luck.

Well yesterday evening Pocus delivered our wish. Not only did she give us a chocolate, blue eyed, polled doeling.....she saved the best for last and baby #3 was a chocolate blue eyed, polled with extensive white doeling, which could be her granddam Twin Pears Marimekko's twin. Her delivery was textbook and everyone is happy and healthy after a very long night of baby screams because they didn't like coming to earthside. They aslo had a very hard time finding Pocus's long, low teats after many hands on training sessions, the babies are now eating independently.
Pocus's has 1 ADGA buckling available.

Baby #1: doeling- Chocolate, blue eyes, polled, (retained)
Baby #2 buckling-Chocolate, brown eyes, disbudded soon
Baby #3 doeling- Chocolate, blue eyes, polled, extensive white (retained)

Since we are keeping a few babies this year we will have a couple adults available in August after our July show.

Ready for the post office tomorrow. πŸ©ΈπŸ’‰

We finally figured out how to draw blood from our goats...it nearly took two days and a lot of frustration. We should get the results for the entire herd by this Friday. We are also waiting for the pregnancy results of our last doe, due in July.
We can now put this horrible experience that almost left us in tears, and almost made us rehome (cull) a couple goats behind us until next year.

We got a wake-up call from Cora this morning. I believe she went a few days overdue.

We witnessed Oak Apple Coretto 7M* pending deliver unassisted this morning at 6:10 a.m. with buck/doe twins. It was the fastest and easiest birth we have seen. I was extremely excited to get a doeling from Cora this year, as she has only had bucklings the past few years. Unfortunately, the first baby was the doeling who was 😒 DOA. We are extremely heartbroken by the loss, and sometimes things happen we can't explain. I noticed the umbilical cord was in poor condition and was damaged in a few areas, which I am leaning toward as the cause of the passing of the fully developed doeling. We are extremely happy for Cora that her second baby, a buckling, came out alive and healthy. He will be available as a registered buckling. I know we had a few messages about any available babies. So if you're still interested please reach out.

That leaves us with just Hocus Pocus to kid in the next week. And Rosa and Infinity to kid in July.

Our 2025 Elite list doe, Sonview Ranch Superfluous 10M* pending, kicked off Kidding Season for us this afternoon. With our first babies from Elysian Creek Gingerbread Man (son of Twin Pears Bedtime Story)
Superfluous is known around our herd as Wednesday.

We had Cora in the kidding pen all last week and still no babies. I woke up this morning and instantly saw Wednesday's udder had doubled in size from yesterday and quickly moved her into the kidding pen with Cora. A few hours later, I went out to check on the two mamas and saw Wednesday in active labor. My kidding box was already outside waiting. This kidding did not start out well; with one leg from each baby out, we soon realized that there were two separate babies side by side and one was blocking the other. We didn't have any room to move them around. Luckily, after one big push, the bigger baby slid past the other and came out, which opened the way for the second baby who came out breech.

We are so thankful everyone is safe and alive. And Wednesday is looking fabulous with an improved rear udder this year. Wednesday is a wonderful mama and already had the little doe eating 10 minutes after birth.

After last year's large single buckling, Wednesday happily gave us Buck/Doe twins at 2:30 p.m. on 6/5/26. Just 30mins later our 4H dairy goat youth members showed up of our last meeting before fair and got to see the new babies.

We had a very popular day for rehoming baby chicks today, rehoming over 20 chicks this morning. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by; we truly hope you enjoy your new chicks, and we can't wait to see pictures of their growth.

With that, we are almost completely sold out for the season.

We are officially sold out of Black Copper Marans and sold out of our Olive Eggers for 2026.

We only have about 12 : 3 -4 month-old barnyard mix chicks left that are starting to show their identity, but just need more time for the roosters to officially show themselves. We will get photos of them and post them soon. However, if you're interested in fall egg layers, please message us to make arrangements to come look. They will lay either green or brown eggs and are $10 each. The price will increase as they get older.

Thank you to all our customers for making this season one to remember. We loved visiting and meeting each and every one of you.

Update on Pocus's eye before our long weekend Holiday πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Her eye has improved so much and is healing nicely. Her pupil became visible, and the cloudy haze is clearing up. We can still see her white ulcer where she injured her eye, and that is to be expected. But her beautiful blue iris is returning. And she seems to be seeing us somewhat out of that eye. We are so grateful to our amazing vet who came and gave her the "Hail Mary" treatment, as she called it, that saved her eye. Now Pocus needs to focus on her soon to be babies.

Please keep Pocus in your thoughts. She injured her eye, and after many antibiotics from the vet today, we are hoping it will work to keep the infection clear so she can keep her eye. Poor Pocus is due to kid in three weeks. She needs to be strong for her babies. πŸ™πŸ˜©
