📢 PROPOSED SURCHARGE B – PROPOSITION 218 NOTICE

Leavitt Lake Community Services District is proposing a temporary Surcharge B of $8.46 per month for 12 months to help fund necessary repairs to Well No. 1 and the District's tractor.

Why is this needed?

Well No. 1 is currently the District's only truly usable and reliable primary water source. Completing the necessary repairs to Well No. 1 is a priority to help ensure the District can continue providing a reliable water supply to the community.

The District's tractor also requires necessary repairs and is used for essential maintenance of District property and facilities.

The estimated cost of the Well No. 1 repairs is approximately $20,846.83. The proposed temporary surcharge will provide a dedicated source of funding toward these necessary repairs while allowing the District to preserve its regular operating revenues for day-to-day water and wastewater operations.

💧 Proposed Surcharge B: $8.46 per month
📅 Duration: 12 months
💰 Maximum cost per customer: $101.52 over one year
🔧 Purpose: Well No. 1 repairs and District tractor repairs

Proposition 218

The District is initiating the required Proposition 218 process for the proposed Surcharge B. Property owners will receive the required formal notice explaining the proposed charge, its purpose, amount, and the process for submitting a written protest.

The required 45-day notice period will provide property owners with an opportunity to review the proposal and submit a written protest in accordance with Proposition 218.

The District understands that any additional charge affects our customers and is committed to being transparent about the need for the proposed surcharge and how the funds will be used.
