May we all aspire…..even with hay on our faces….to be as chill as Sera is on any given day😂

This heifer has been sitting on about 13 eggs. She hatched one and hopped down from her box like she was done. I said “Umm no ma’am, you wanted these babies and you are gonna finish what you started.”🤣 I moved her and her nest to the rabbit hutch so it would be safer for her chick. She’s mad mad. She’s also mean as a snake btw. She doesn’t peck, she bites!😂 Ask me how I know….

The days keep passing by and the absence of Lyra, Peep, Winnie, and Bea has been felt everyday. Keeping busy is the only way I have found to keep it from consuming me. Many might find it ridiculous to grieve in such a way over farm animals, but these girls were so special to me. They did not lose their lives from sickness, they lost them in a violent, sickening way and they suffered until they passed. I will never forget walking into their pasture and seeing that horrific sight. All because of irresponsible dog owners. In the end, the fault falls on them. I cannot say very much here for legal reasons but I will say this. We got them. The dog owners. We have an upcoming court date. Please pray that they are made to suffer the consequences of their actions, and of their dog’s actions. This never should have happened. It has robbed us of our peace, and caused us so much heartbreak.

Oh my sweet precious girls💔 We had just shared you with so many and you all brought so many smiles. My heart aches to see you again, to hear you again. The silence is so loud around the farm. I absolutely hate it. I think there will forever be a before and an after with this. We found pictures on our cameras finally of the dogs. It sickens me to see them. I won’t share those on this post. We put so much time, work and effort into perfecting our herd. These girls were special. And Winnie had already shown us how tough she was to go through losing her leg and still thrive. All to be taken away in an instant. I will never understand this. They never knew fear, they only knew love. How scared and confused they must have been😓 I am exhausted in every possible way. I have worked hard this week just trying to stay busy and outrun my mind. If you have thought of us, prayed for us, commented and shared your sadness, sent us messages, visited us…..please know it means to world to us and we appreciate you all. This little farm has taken a big hit, our hearts are broken. But we will find our way back somehow to the joy it once brought us. We just have to figure out how to do that.

*** Dr. Williams just called me. Winnie and Bea both died last night. 😭😭😭😭
I visited my sweet babies, Winnie and Bea last night at the vet clinic. Seeing the state that they are in…..the wounds, and what this has done to them mentally, is agonizing. They are still extremely stressed so the staff are going very slow with treatment to try and not make that worse. I talked to them and pet them as much as I could. I told them how sorry I am that this happened. I spent the entire day trying to erase what happened. Cleaning, crying, trying to just accept it. All of my animals watched me and did not make a sound. They are normally so loud. It’s as though they are all grieving too. I know so many people are praying for us and thinking of us and we appreciate it so much. To some they were just livestock but to us they were family. They did not deserve this. 💔
